Founded to respond to a need for parents to be able to attend ESL (English as a second language) classes, Global Roots Play School welcomes students from all backgrounds and home languages! Global Roots Play School opened it's doors in September 2017 to children ages 18 months to 5 years old. Our goal is to be a place for parents and children to come together to build a community, and where children can feel safe and nurtured while enjoying the socialization of group care. Our focus is on helping children learn through play and respectful caregiving. Children truly take the lead in our classroom, and we interfere with their play as little as possible. We help them to develop the tools they need to successfully navigate peer relationships and emotions. They are given the room to think both independently and as a group--and to problem solve, to fail, and to feel pride in their own successes. Our teachers cultivate play experiences for the children that will lead to their natural growth and learning. We tailor our support to the needs of each individual child and the group dynamics supporting each child’s whole self. We are happy for parents to stay as little or as much as they’d like.
