A Zadie Jumpsuit? Yes, indeed. And you know there were lots of height and pleat adjustments. A crossover bodice can hide a multitude of sins!

This flowy viscose challis from Minerva is perfect - just make sure to size down. I used my Stitchy to secure the neckline closed temporarily. I love that thing! But don't do that on a jumpsuit. It's not fun to be an hour from home when you realize you need to use the bathroom and there is no seam ripper in sight!

Living on the second and third floor where the electricity can't handle more than two air window air conditioners running at the same time has been tough this week! But, I am loving the Sorata Dress I made. Its currently 90° f/ 32° C and 90% humidity. I wish I had like four more of these dresses to wear all week. Modal Challis is the most wonderful fabric for summer!

My first sewing project in my new home is complete! It's a hacked Bloom Blouse by Sinclair Patterns sewn in a cotton seersucker fabric from Minerva

This fabric is perfect for summer, and perfect for living in a second/third floor apartment!

Some recent t-shirt makes: a cotton/Lycra floral from and a navy modal/spandex that has been in my stash for years. I did my normal length, small bust and narrow shoulder adjustments.

I really like the new from - my preference is to size up 1-2 sizes because I prefer a more relaxed fit.

Hi, I'm Stephanie 👋 welcome to my page! It's been a while so I decided it's time to introduce myself.

I'm a seamstress & sewing educator. I specialize in teaching people of all ages how to make clothing that fits. The last five years I have also focused on teaching kids sewing classes and camps and it has been a blast!

Some personal details about me...
- I live with my husband and two kids in Ithaca, NY. We are pretty excited that my husband will graduate with his doctorate in physics this spring! Maybe I am more relieved, if anything? We feel old. 👵👴

-We have two dogs: a one-eyed English bulldog, who at 12 is a glorified couch potato. We also have a cardigan welsh corgi who loves to be with her people. Actually, if I'm being honest *I* am her "people". She loves ME the most! Lol.

-I love to paint watercolor and garden but haven't had much time for either in the last couple of years. During the pandemic and afterwards I grew lots of cut flowers.

-I love true crime and I'm not ashamed of it! I have to listen to something interesting while I wash dishes. My husband is an amazing cook so there are A LOT of dishes to wash!

Anyway… that’s me in a nutshell 😄 I’m really glad you’re here.

February break at Quilters Corner = SEW much fun! 🪡💛
This week we had two awesome groups of sewists, and our afternoon camp featured our oldest crew — some of whom have been sewing with us for 3+ years 🤯👏

These talented makers tackled projects like:
👖 Overalls
🩳 Pajama pants & shorts
🧵 Zipper pouches
🎀 Headbands and more

Watching their confidence, creativity, and skills grow year after year is one of my favorite parts of teaching. I'm so proud of everything they made (and wore!) this week. 💕

✨ Next camp starts April 1st for Spring Break! ✨
Campers will kick things off with adorable dino nugget plushies 🦖🍗 and then choose their next project. There are currently 5 spots and they will go fast!
