Faculty spotlight: Morgan Haaf, Early Childhood Music Educator

Morgan Haaf is a music educator and vocalist who teaches Music Makers classes at Opus Ithaca, using the Kodály approach to help young children build a strong foundation in music through singing, movement, and joyful exploration. The fall session of Music Makers is starting soon!

Fun Fact: Morgan was one of the 1st students of Opus Ithaca and has rejoined us in a faculty position!

She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she studied voice with Dr. Kathleen Miller. Morgan has taught general music and choir in a variety of schools in the area. In addition to teaching, Morgan served as Music Director of The Potsdam Pitches, leading workshops and performances across New York State. As a performer, she has sung with Crane Chorus and other ensembles under the direction of renowned conductors, and has appeared on regional broadcasts with Mountain Lake PBS.

Morgan’s teaching is grounded in the belief that music is for everyone. Her classes combine Kodály principles with playful, engaging activities that support musical growth and creativity in every student.
