In honor of it being Friday Jr. and with classes, organizations, and responsibilities gearing up, we’re sharing another Peer Tip for New Students from our very own Davis Postell!

Davis is a fourth-year, human development major, and he served as a member of the Orientation Steering Committee this year!

Davis’ advice for new students: “It can be super easy to feel overwhelmed between classes, making friends, and simply adjusting to being on your own. Don’t overload yourself; you don’t have to do everything all at once. And be kind to yourself! Listen to your body and remember that your mental and physical health are more important than anything else!”

CU Downtown, an award-winning event, is returning after a two-year hiatus!! Join the Tatkon Center for New Students and Ithaca Downtown Alliance for an action-packed afternoon to welcome new and returning students to the city of Ithaca.

Explore Downtown Ithaca and enjoy free apple cider and donuts (for the first 1,000 attendees). We also invite you to check out student performances starting at 1 PM, take advantage of special student discounts and activities at retail stores, and participate in the Stranger Things-themed scavenger hunt!

Free TCAT bus shuttles will run from North Campus to the commons all afternoon. Check with the folks in your residence hall for more information about walking and/or riding the bus.

This event is organized by the Tatkon Center for New Students in partnership with the Ithaca Downtown Alliance, TCAT, Campus Activities, and Off-Campus Living.

PEER TIPS FROM OSC! 🐻🎈
Sofia is our other OSC Co-Chair! She is a senior Biology & Society AND Psychology double major, with a minor in English.
Sofia’s tip is: Take your time to enjoy your undergrad experience!! I promise there are enough hours in the day for work, clubs, hanging out with new friends, and enjoying nature. Go swim, hike, meet new people, and take care of yourself! When you look back at your years at Cornell, you’ll remember the fun times and appreciate that you made those memories for yourself.”
