Cornellians showed up in full force this spring as International Alumni Relations brought the Big Red community together in Monterrey and Mexico City for two dynamic alumni events.
With 24 attendees in Monterrey and 31 in Mexico City, both gatherings were filled with energy, connection, and new faces, including a number of walk-in guests eager to be part of the Cornell network. Conversations flowed well into the evening, with alumni staying for hours to reconnect, share stories, and build new relationships.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Smaller gatherings with alumni leaders and emerging volunteers revealed strong enthusiasm to grow and strengthen the Cornell presence in Mexico, setting the stage for even more engagement ahead.
We’re incredibly grateful to our alumni hosts and volunteers who made these events so special, and we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for more opportunities to connect!

Cornell Club of Delhi hosts a Trailblazing Filmmaker Alumna
The Cornell Club of Delhi hosted a riveting event on March 29th. Alumni gathered with enthusiasm to attend an exclusive screening and conversation featuring fellow alumna, Anisa Draboo MRP '05, storyteller, co-founder and executive producer of Netflix’s acclaimed TV series “Black Warrant” bringing to life real-life accounts from India’s prison system with a clarion call for political and judicial reform.
This event lured alumni of diverse backgrounds; from climate entrepreneurs, policy practitioners, technologists, impact investors, and notable economists. With Ivy+ alumni also in attendance, local Cornellians enjoyed watching key clips from the Series that Anisa expanded with first-hand remarks. An illuminating conversation ensued on how culture-reforming stories from South Asia are shaped with accuracy and flair, and direct insight into how producers, writers and directors collaborate with Netflix and peer businesses on socially motivated media.
Even more so, attendees converged on a “spoken-like-true-Cornellian” moment as they learned how Anisa’s fused her varied experiences as she took the plunge few years back into co-founding Confluence Media, leaving behind a straightforward career path.
