Owl's Nest Preschool now settled in the woods on Ithaca's beautiful South Hill, welcomed our first parliament of owlets in September 2016. Reggio-inspired classrooms are designed to encourage relationships, communication, and collaboration through play. Classroom materials are thoughtfully incorporated to encourage creativity, problem-solving work, experimentation and open-ended play. Mindfulness education, nature exploration, yoga, art, music, and play are all integral parts of the ever-evolving, child-focused & emergent curriculum. Owlets are encouraged to practice peace & kindness, and developing strong social and emotional skills. The teachers use positive guidance techniques and have a very simple set of rules to follow in our community focused classroom.
