Crowdfunding has Officially Started!
CUAUV is super excited about the opportunity to participate in this year's crowdfunding campaign. Every dollar donated will go directly into helping continue our team's research and development of this year's submarine.
All donations can be made to the address linked below, and are supercritical for us to continue team operations and growth. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated.

Hi all! CUAUV is excited to announce that we will be participating in Cornell’s Annual Giving Day on March 12th. Giving Day is a Cornell-wide day of donations, dedicated to helping student organizations reach their fundraising goals. This year, we are asking for your help and contribution- every dollar counts. Your gift will help send our members to the annual Robosub competition, purchase new electrical and server equipment, and many more new, exciting initiatives.
CUAUV is a competitive project team at Cornell that designs, builds, programs, and tests two completely autonomous submarines to compete in AUVSI’s international RoboSub competition. We continue to redesign our subs every year, pushing the boundaries of innovation with every feature we add and modify. We have distinguished ourselves even beyond being one of the top project teams on campus by winning the competition seven times since 1999.
Once again, every dollar counts! Please consider making a donation at the following link beginning at 12:00am on March 12th: https://givingday.cornell.edu/campaigns/cuauv. Please feel free to reach out to us on social media or at [email protected] with any comments or questions!

Thank you to everyone who chatted with us at Sci Bowl! We had a great time inspiring young scientists and showing what's possible with just a few months and a lot of hard work!

We always love the opportunity to show others the fascinating world of engineering! Thank you to Code Red for inviting our team to Ithaca High School to showcase a little science behind buoyancy and how we need to consider it when designing our subs!

Meet Jackson Hardin! He’s one of the new members on the Mechanical subteam, and he helps the team by designing and machining key parts for our sub!
Q: What is your favorite part of CUAUV?
A: I really enjoy learning how to design mechanisms within the constraints of machinability, and ease of machining. I think it’s an aspect of mechanical design that I had often looked over in the past because I never got to machine my own parts.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: For fun, I love to be outside and moving: skiing, running hiking, swimming etc.
Q: What’s your go to song for karaoke?
A: My go to Karaoke song is Love Story by Taylor Swift.

Meet Angelina! She’s a Computer Science major that just joined our Software Subteam!
Q: What is your favorite part of CUAUV?
A: As cliche as it sounds, my favorite part of CUAUV so far is the people. Everyone is incredibly enthusiastic about the team, and they’re always eager to teach new members.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: For fun, I like to read books and ride horses. I am currently reading Tender Is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and I’ve been riding horses since I was five. Horse riding and reading both help me to de-stress and relax
Q: Weirdest favorite food?
A: I am a freak for black licorice.
