This year's recipient of the Rod Serling Award is Norman Lear. We are thrilled to recognize him on November 15, 2018.

We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Rod Serling Scriptwriting Competition. They are as follows:
First Place: Vance Berk, Songbird on the Wire
Second Place: David Eversole, Shoo, Fly
Third Place: Eugene Ramos, When Waterdrops Have Worn the Stones of Troy
This year’s winners will receive prizes of $250, $150 and $100 respectively.
The competition honors excellence in a short script displaying strong contemporary social themes in the science fiction and horror genres that are in the tradition of Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone or Night Gallery. It is open to non-produced or non-optioned writers only.
This year’s competition had a record number of entries from countries all over the world. The finalists were read by a panel of industry professionals as well as by Carol Serling.

The Rod Sering Scriptwriting Competition is back!
Looking for amazing scripts written in the same genre and style that would have been suitable to conform with episodes for either THE TWILIGHT ZONE or NIGHT GALLERY. More specifically, this means displaying traits of either a horror or a science fiction genre, while exhibiting strong traditional or contemporary social themes.
Deadline: Monday, Sept. 17, 2018.
