Giselle transferred to Cornell last year, searching for a strong Jewish community where she truly felt like she belonged. As a Persian Jew, when she saw that Hillel has a Sephardi & Mizrahi Student Council, she knew she found what she was looking for.

This year, she is serving as the co-president of the Council, which has been an incredible opportunity for her to set an example and teach others about her community. For Giselle, highlights have included the Nowruz event and the Sion Sephardi-Mizrahi Shabbat, where over 300 students and community members came together to learn about Sephardi and Mizrahi culture, ask questions, and connect with traditions they may not have encountered before.

Before midnight, please consider making a gift to Hillel. Your generosity ensures that students like Giselle, and so many others, can feel a sense of belonging, celebrate their identities, and enjoy meaningful Jewish experiences at Cornell. https://give.hillel.org/give/779163/ #!/donation/checkout?c_src=facebook

Ari connected to the Jewish community at Cornell more than he had ever before thanks to Hillel, where he discovered a welcoming, judgment-free space and lots of opportunities to go to Israel. Before his junior year, Ari went on Birthright with Hillel and participated in an Onward Israel internship at a startup. He came back to campus with a completely new perspective and a deeper connection to Israel and Jewish life, leading dialogue on campus about Israel and running a Passover Seder at last year’s Super Seder.

If you haven’t yet supported Hillel, please consider making a gift to help us reach our goal of $50,000! Gifts made by tomorrow night will be matched 2:1, meaning you can triple your impact. Your generosity plays a vital role in providing students like Ari with exploration, growth, and a sense of belonging on campus.

For Henry, Hillel has been a very caring, accepting space with a great community of friends and many opportunities to explore Judaism. While he didn’t grow up going to synagogue regularly, he started attending services with Shevach, Hillel’s Conservative Egalitarian Minyan. Henry found weekly services to be a meaningful way to close out the week, especially with everyone singing together. Now, he serves as the Treasurer of Shevach.

Henry has also gotten involved with Hillel in other capacities, attending free Wednesday night dinners and participating in Jewish Learning Fellowships, such as ‘Intro to Talmud,” where he and four other students learned Talmud in a safe, close-knit environment at the Hillel House on North.

Your Hillel Global Giving Week gift, matched 2:1, makes experiences like Henry’s possible for so many other students at Cornell. Support Jewish Cornellians here: https://give.hillel.org/give/779163/ #!/donation/checkout?c_src=facebook

When Madeline first got to Cornell last fall, she was seeking connection, friendship, and a place where she could feel like herself. She immediately found her home away from home at Hillel. Madeline started her Hillel journey with a wonderful experience at First-Year Fest, meeting lots of friends. She’s quickly gotten more involved with Hillel, discovering endless opportunities to explore her interests.

Madeline joined the Shabbat Council in her first semester, became a student engagement intern, and is now serving as the Social and Environmental Justice Chair on the E-Board, which is especially rewarding for her as an environmental engineering major.

This Hillel Global Giving Week, amplify your impact on students like Madeline - early gifts will be triple matched! Support Jewish Cornellians here: https://give.hillel.org/give/779163/ #!/donation/checkout?c_src=facebook
