Karl is a graduate of the Hotel School and is currently an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. Prior to consulting, he worked in Capital Markets at Hyatt, focusing on corporate finance and investor relations in the hospitality industry.
On campus, Karl was a Cornell Tradition Fellow and a Senior Recognition award recipient and served as an Engaged Ambassador with the Einhorn Center. He remains connected to Cornell today as a board member of the Cornell Club of Chicago, and serves on the Associate Board of Chicago Angels, a nonprofit supporting foster youth and families.

Congratulations to Team Lynx (pictured below) for winning 1st place at the Team bonding experience for all new CT fellows, sponsored by the Herskowitz Family!
Some highlights from the fellows adventures included photos of studying hard, a pyramid with with Ezra on top, the tough climb up the slope and several fantastic group songs!
Congrats to 5th place- team bear, 4th place team viper, 3rd place team mule and 2nd place with 200 more points than 3rd place- team gecko!

This interactive session will explore practical tools for breaking complex projects into manageable steps, building and motivating effective teams, navigating common team challenges, and keeping projects moving forward.
The event is especially relevant for students involved in student organizations, clubs, project teams, or other collaborative groups, particularly those planning events or working on larger projects this year.

From Houston to NYC: Huck Friedman ’28 is advancing cancer research
This summer, Cornell student Huck Friedman ’28 continued his cancer research at the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center in New York City, investigating a rare and difficult-to-treat form of cancer.

Huck’s research focuses on understanding how mutant proteins drive the growth of this cancer—with the ultimate goal of identifying ways to repurpose existing drugs or develop new treatments to help patients.

This work builds on a research project Huck began last summer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Thanks to the flexibility and support of the Janet McKinley ’74 Family Grant, he was able to continue the project at Mount Sinai while collaborating with researchers at institutions across New York City, including Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Huck also spent the summer co-authoring a review paper on what is currently known about this disease alongside leaders in medical oncology and lung cancer at Mount Sinai and MD Anderson. The goal? To help other researchers better understand this rare disease and advance future research.
