The Department of Psychology at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to participate in Cornell's Active Learning Initiative beginning on July 1, 2026. This initiative supports departments in integrating active learning approaches into their undergraduate curriculum. The one-year term position has the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with faculty to develop and implement active learning strategies into diverse undergraduate Psychology courses (approximately two courses per year). Additionally, they will assess the effectiveness of these strategies on student engagement, learning outcomes and sense of belonging. The Postdoctoral Associate also will participate in weekly seminars with other Active Learning Initiative postdocs, receiving training and support in designing and implementing research-based teaching strategies.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology Human Development, or in a closely related field awarded after September 1, 2023. A passion for teaching and teaching innovation is essential. While prior experience with active learning is preferred, it is not required. Additional beneficial but optional skills include programming, computation, and data analysis.

The Department of Psychology at Cornell University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in the areas of Human Development and Aging. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
The successful candidate will work with a primary faculty mentor (Dr. Anthony Ong) and will focus primarily on data analysis and manuscript preparation, with opportunities to publish as first author as well as collaborate on papers with faculty and students.
Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, human development, quantitative psychology, or a related area. Other required qualifications are a strong background/interests in health and well-being, cognitive aging and dementia, loneliness and social isolation, and integrative data analysis, and strong analytic skills such as structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, longitudinal data analysis, and/or categorical analysis (e.g., growth mixture modeling) using R, Mplus, and/or SAS.
This position is funded by an R01 grant (1R01AG082954-01) from the National Institute on Aging in collaboration with Northwestern University. The project is titled "Advancing the Study of Social Isolation, Loneliness, and Cognitive Functioning in Older Adults Through the Use of Integrative Data Analysis.”

Congratulations to Prof. Michael Goldstein who has been named a Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow, in recognition of his exemplary service in undergraduate teaching and mentoring. His work as faculty director of the Robert S. Harrison College Scholar Program and of the Behavioral Analysis of Beginning Years (B.A.B.Y.) lab, and strong support from his many undergraduate advisees were highlighted in the announcement of this award by Cornell President Martha E. Pollack.
