2022 is the year of bringing traditions back, like our annual EcoEats Pi Day Celebration! Featuring tasty treats, irrational puns, and nerdy math facts 🥧♾

Inq***ry is BACK! Tonight is the first meeting after we took a break due to covid. It’s open to everyone, q***r or not, and tonight’s meeting will be a casual intro with disclaimers and then a discussion on q***r joy, media, and recent legislation (e.g., “don’t say gay” in Florida). We’ll also talk about some fun future plans, like flag cookies, stickers, crafting, and more! 🏳️‍🌈

Cornell has a rich history with falconry and raptor conservation, and a good number of falconers have passed through Cornell as students or professors. Eco alum Sam Halger ‘20 will share more about the history of falconry at Cornell and about her own experience hunting with Red-tailed Hawks here in Ithaca. She is a licensed general falconer who started her falconry apprenticeship in 2019 while a student. Sam’s favorite Eco memory: “Lots of great Eco memories to choose from! One of my favorite Eco memories is from early in my freshman fall, when some of our RAs and other Eco upperclassmen walked with a bunch of us freshmen to Collegetown to get boba. I remember everyone in the group making me feel so at home. All the way up through my senior year, myself and several other Eco Housers would make the occasional Friday night outing for boba and I was always grateful to my RAs for inadvertently starting that tradition for me.” See you in the lobby on Saturday at 3pm!

The Social Justice Committee will be having an Ethics and Tea night this Wednesday during ice cream night! 🍦🍦 We will be talking about border environments and the racial discrepancies we're seeing with the current ongoing refugee crisis. So grab your ice cream, a cup of hot tea and biscuits, and join us in the fireside for this important conversation. We hope to see you then!

We are very excited to announce that Bird Fact Bingo will be on Saturday, March 19 at 7pm in the Fireside! Some of Eco's amazing birders have compiled a list of birds, and we will be playing bingo using these birds instead of numbers. At the same time, we will have fun facts about the birds and pictures of them, so it'll be a great way to either learn about new birds or get people excited about your favorites. There will also be some fun ~prizes~ for those who get bingo, so I hope you all come down to play!

Next Tuesday 3/22 at 7pm RA Victoria will be hosting A3C Trivia Night with Nancy Martinsen from Cornell’s Asian and Asian American Center! Come learn a little about the A3C, play some trivia, and win prizes! There will be prizes for the trivia winners, and the first fifteen people will get a prize just for coming. Hope to see you there!

We’re happy to announce the return of our annual Pi Day program on March 20 at 8pm! There will be a pie baking competition, and everyone is free to enter. We are looking for a well-*rounded* spread, so any pie is welcome, sweet or savory! There is, however, an exception of nuts because of allergens, and we want to be careful. We encourage a range of types of pies, so get creative and consider dietary restrictions as well! No need for *irrational* fears- participating is free, and we will be buying all the ingredients!
