Two sisters, two missions. This weekend , Cadet Abi Stewart is attending Airman Leadership School at the Texas Wing Headquarters in Nacogdoches, Texas. She will be spending the weekend learning about the Civil Air Patrol’s mission and core values. Also, she will experience drill and physical training.

Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Dani Stewart will be on the Public Affairs staff for the Airman Leadership School. This is her first staffing event.

We wish our Gladiator Cadets the best of luck this weekend.

Another day of flying done for our cadets. Did you know the Civil Air Patrol has flight academies for cadets to attend? The Italy squadron has graduated six cadets from CAP flight academies and two Italy Squadron alumni are currently in flight school pursuing their dream to become commercial pilots.

The Italy Cadet Squadron would like to congratulate Cadet First Lieutenant Adela (call sign Delly) Garcia on her graduation from the Civil Air Patrol’s Colonel Roland Butler Powered Flight Academy in Camden, SC. Cadet Garcia logged 11 hours behind the stick in a CAP Cessna 172 this past week plus many hours observing her pilot instructor on the ground and in the air learning and demonstrating vital skills needed to become a pilot. Cadet Garcia is the sixth Gladiator cadet to graduate from a flight academy and the fourth Gladiator cadet to graduate from powered academy. Cadet Garcia is also the first Gladiator cadet to be accepted to a flight academy outside of CAP’s Southwest Region. We are very proud of our cadet and wish her many more hours in the sky. Delly, keep the blue side up!

Hurricane who? That didn’t stop our Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Annabelle Glover from attending CAP’s Glider Flight Academy in Waller, TX. Glover will be spending the week learning the basics of flying while practicing her skills while airborne. We wish her and the other cadets there the best of luck. Keep the blue side up, Annabelle!
