Italy FFA

We finished up yesterday at Heart of Texas Livestock Show, where our steer showers competed in the last show of our fall season. We will still be competing in jackpots until spring majors, but we finished on a great note. In the two show event, We placed a first, two thirds, two fourths, and a couple sevenths. More than the ribbons though, I’m so proud of the teamwork shown by Alice, Miranda, Reagan and all their families. If you had been watching from afar, you wouldn’t have known who’s calf was who’s! Everyone worked tirelessly the whole show making sure each calf was ready to show- including our friends from Palmer and Ennis stalling beside us. You’ve seen some of the ALL ITALY ALL IN clips, but it was on FULL DISPLAY this week in Waco! I can’t thank you guys enough for all you do, great job!

Yesterday our students went to the State Fair of Texas for Ag Awareness Day and participated in their canned food donation drive. They had a blast and represented our program well!

These kids first major is under their belt! Each of these kids, and their calves, are new to the show cattle world. The Bradley kiddos have been to a few jackpots, while this is Alyssa’s first time out. All three of these kids, and their calves, did awesome! We had a team meeting, talked about our positives and things to work on for tomorrow. I’m super stoked to be back in the cattle barn, and even more pumped to see these kids keep taking charge! Tomorrow is day 2 at HOT!
