We wanted to pass along this upcoming opportunity from ISD Special Services for families of students with IEPs looking to learn more about Washington State DDA. Thank you Issaquah School District for hosting this information session!

Understanding DDA Services & Eligibility
6:00–7:30 PM
ISD Administration Building, Mt. Rainier Room
5150 220th Ave SE, Issaquah

Washington State DDA representatives will share information about eligibility and available supports, answer questions, and provide hands-on help with applications. If you’d like application assistance, bring relevant student records, medical evaluations, and psychological assessments.

Join us for our first Parent Power Hour of the school year on Friday, September 18 from 10–11 AM at the Issaquah Community Center!

If you haven’t joined us for a Power Hour before, this is a great time to check it out! It’s a casual, welcoming opportunity to connect with Issaquah Special Education PTSA volunteers and other local families, talk about special education, and share how the start of the school year is going.

We are thrilled to announce that, in place of our June Parent Power Hour, we will be hosting a casual “Sip and Chat” with local neuropsychologist, Dr. Samuel Kane!

Parents and caregivers of children with an IEP, 504, or suspected disability are invited to come connect, ask questions, share experiences, and enjoy coffee and snacks together in a welcoming, supportive space. We’re so excited to have Dr. Kane joining us for this conversation!

We are so excited to gather together and celebrate a wonderful year with this incredible community. Bring the whole family and join us on the Holly Street Learning Center playground for a sweet treat for everyone!

We had such a great meeting last night, full of conversation, laughter, and meaningful presentations from our guests, Executive Director of Athletes for Kids Marni Kurtz (+ a wonderful student mentor) and ISD Director of Special Services (Secondary) Tammy Unruh.

One week to go until our final General Membership Meeting of the 2025–2026 school year! Join us as we celebrate the incredible work of our community, share updates from the year, and elect our 2026–2027 ISE PTSA Board. We’re also excited to welcome two special guests: Tammy Unruh, ISD Director of Special Services – Secondary, will be sharing information on transitions, and Athletes for Kids will be there to connect with families about their program.
