What does it actually feel like to manage your finances as an adult?

Students at Lake Superior State University got a chance to find out at a Financial Reality Fair, where they navigated real-world expenses and made decisions about how to manage their money.

Junior Achievement of the Upper Peninsula was proud to be part of this hands-on experience alongside Limestone Financial Credit Union and LSSU. Thank you to everyone who helped give students a practical look at the financial decisions they’ll soon be making on their own!

Junior Achievement's programs extend far beyond the classroom; take it from Tiffany, a store associate at Martin's Super Markets in Niles!

JA's campaign with SpartanNash is underway today, and when Laura Lutterbeck, COO of our Michigan Great Lakes office, stopped by to talk to the MARTINS team about the fundraiser, Tiffany excitedly recounted having JA in 3rd grade. She said she remembers how much fun she had with the program, even after graduating and starting her career working for SpartanNash!

Sometimes, all it takes is one Junior Achievement class to spark a student's future.

GasBuddy's Patrick De Haan, a Michigan native and JA alumnus, is a perfect example. "I think all of this really started with Junior Achievement back in eighth grade,” he shared in a recent FOX 17 interview. That early spark of curiosity grew into a career helping millions of drivers understand changing fuel prices and make informed decisions.
