We had so much fun learning about the natural world with the Shelby County Conservationist last year that we’re bringing Forest Friends back for another season! Our first Forest Friends will be Sept. 17th at 10am.

Forest Friends is a monthly nature learning program for kids of different ages. Each month, we’ll explore a new topic through books, hands-on activities, discussion, and a snack. Activities are divided into younger and older groups so everyone can learn and participate at their own level.

Forest Friends is for ALL kids! While it can be a great addition to a homeschool day, you absolutely do not have to be homeschooled to attend. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are all welcome to bring the kids for an hour of learning, exploring, and fun at the library!

The Núñez boys each read 1,200 minutes this summer and picked out some pretty neat prizes! Way to go boys!

The Greve's have been busy this summer! Each of the boys read 1,200 minutes, Mom read her 5 books, and they hunted and hunted to find ducks. The ducks they found were in an alley, on a grain bin, and in a flowerpot next to a church.
