From Jay Taylor:

Many classmates have remarked that Friday afternoon's tour of the High School was a highlight of the reunion event. We saw that the school is vastly different than when we attended! For those on the tour, and any others who are interested, It would be a good gesture of thanks to Principal Jon Hirsch for his time and attention to our class if you would make a donation to the Irvington Education Foundation which funds a variety of faculty and student needs to further improve the education of Irvington students. Thank you!

OK folks. It’s crunch time. We have a great number of responses so far. However, there are a few stragglers who have to get checks in. If you are one of the holdouts, please get on it ASAP! We need an accurate head count and there won’t be any paying at the door.

Latest from Jay about tour:

Plans are now final for the tour of the High School, Friday, October 9 at 3:30 PM. We expect about 22 from our class to attend. If you’d like to attend and haven’t let Jay Taylor know, please DM him or reply to this post so we know to expect you! Here are some things you need to know:
1. Plan to park in the teacher lot by the main entrance.
2. Although you will arrive after school hours and it’s unlikely that there will be any formal check-in required, please bring a license or other government-issued ID just in case.
3. We will gather in the atrium just inside the main entrance. Jay will be there to greet you and muster the group.
4. Please arrive just before 3:30 so that we can begin the tour on time. The principal (Jon Hirsch) is staying late for us on the Friday before a long weekend, so we would like to not hold him up with a late start.
5. Please note that the theater and gym are now separated from the “original” High School by some distance. Just a note for anyone with mobility issues.

Just heard from Scott Mosenthal. He’s the President of the Irvington Historic Society. He says they will be open on Saturday 10/10 from 1:00 to 4:00 and there will be a docent on duty for anyone interested in stopping in. The Society is located at the top of Main Street in the Dolans old house, next to Coco’s garage.

Tragic News. The Grill is no more. We’re going to pivot and have our Friday night gathering at the Setback on Main Street in Tarrytown. Checks are coming in. If you have not sent yours, get on it. We need a head count for the Sail House so there will be no paying at the door.

AND, our friend and classmate, Gery Peyer, has donated $500 towards our first round at the Sail House. Gery lives in Switzerland and can’t join us. Thank you, Gery! Wish you could make it. That’s all for now.
