💙 🐾 💛 Golden Guest Day was a special time to celebrate the special people in our students’ lives!
Although the weather kept some guests from joining us, we had a wonderful time sharing refreshments, shopping at the book fair, capturing memories with photo opportunities, and visiting with loved ones.

From earning PAWSitive Office Referrals and meeting AR goals to mastering math facts and so much more, our Cougar Cubs have been busy learning, growing, and achieving! 🎉📚✏️

We are SO proud of all the accomplishments, big and small, that our students have achieved during the first quarter! Every milestone represents hard work, determination, and growth, and we love celebrating each one along the way! 🐾✨

First quarter was full of reasons to celebrate, and we can’t wait to see what our students accomplish next!

Our students have been busy celebrating all kinds of successes! From a special Board Game Day for students with PERFECT ATTENDANCE 🎲🏆 to Club Day, where students get to explore their interests, connect with others, and have FUN, we love creating opportunities to celebrate our students beyond the classroom! 🌟
At St. Elmo, we know our students are GREATER than just academics! 💙 They are leaders, teammates, artists, problem-solvers, friends, and so much more.
We are so proud of the many ways our students show up, get involved, and SHINE! ✨

As part of this special recognition, Kaden and his parents had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Southwest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce luncheon. What an exciting experience and a great way to celebrate his accomplishments! 👏✨

📚✨ Fluent Readers in the Making! ✨📚
Our first graders in Ms. Hudson’s class have been working hard on their oral reading fluency and prosody!
Students practiced reading in several different ways:
📖 Independently
👫 With their shoulder partners
🗣️ Through choral reading as a whole class
As students build fluency, they are learning to read accurately, smoothly, and with expression. Using appropriate phrasing, pacing, and expression helps bring the words on the page to life and supports strong reading comprehension! ❤️
We love seeing our young readers grow in confidence, expression, and skill each day! 💙 🐾 💛

📣 ACAP PRACTICE REMINDER FOR FAMILIES 📣

ACAP Practice testing begins October 20 and runs through November 2. As we prepare our students for testing, we want to remind families of an important testing-day expectation:

⌚📱 Students may NOT wear or have digital devices in the testing room. This includes smartwatches, digital watches, and other wearable or electronic devices.

To help make testing mornings as smooth as possible, please leave all digital devices at home during the ACAP Practice testing window.

If a student arrives wearing a digital device, the device will be collected by the teacher and securely stored until testing has been completed for the day.
