Love was in the air at Good Shepherd this Valentine’s Day!

As we celebrated friendship and kindness, our little learners built important skills through hands-on, heart themed activities…strengthening fine motor skills with crafts, practicing counting, and growing socially by sharing and expressing gratitude.

Valentine’s Day gives us the perfect opportunity to talk about empathy, inclusion, and what it means to be a kind friend. From exchanging sweet notes to working together on creative projects, our classrooms were filled with laughter, learning, and lots of love.

When children feel loved and supported, they truly shine! 💖

Rumble in the Jungle inspired our class mural!

After reading the story, our preschoolers worked together to create a jungle mural, strengthening cognitive skills through listening, recalling details, and learning new animal vocabulary. They built social skills by sharing ideas, taking turns, and collaborating, while physical development was supported through painting and fine motor work.

This week one of our 3s classes have been learning all about hibernation and exploring different types of bears! We talked about how some animals sleep through the winter, read bear stories, practiced sorting bear types, and even pretended to curl up like hibernating bears 💤

We added creative crafts like fork fur polar bears and yarn wrapped brown bears, that build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and following directions—all while having beary fun! 🐾💛

Learning through play makes science and math come alive, and our little learners were beary excited! 🐾💛
