ition in middle school basketball. Eagles basketball has produced many great High school and College basketball players. A winning tradition that continues even today.Formally, Saint Paul The Apostle School, the school has been a good alternative for many Irvington and Newark families. The majority of St. Pauls' parents want something better than their hometown school systems. The smaller and safer learning environment of St. Paul's.With the rash Catholic parish and school closings in North Jersey in 2005, the Archdiocese of Newark chose to merge St. Paul's with Immaculate Heart of Mary of Maplewood. Good Shepherd Academy was founded.Though the name has changed, the mission is still the same. This program is designed to develop student-athletes, for high school level basketball, with the emphasis on a hard work ethic, commitment, education, discipline and fair team play.The GSA Eagles basketball coaches believe in providing a fair place of learning and promise an instructional environment to achieve the highest level of team and individual development. Currently, we are looking to extend the program into the summer with Project Team Upstart.The GSA Eagles play in the Grammar Independent League (G.I.L.)
