Monday Motivation 🌪️

This week, our focus is the R in GRIT: Resilience.

Resilience is about how we respond when things do not go as planned. In education, every day brings challenges, but we have the opportunity to reset, adjust, and keep moving forward.

As Nelson Mandela said, “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.”

This week, let’s model resilience for our students. When things get tough, reset, refocus, and keep going.

Have a great week, and Go Canes!

🏐🌀 HURRICANES BRING HOME THREE WINS! 🌀🏐

It was a strong showing for Hurricane Volleyball at the Battle at The Hive at East Central, as the Canes picked up wins over St. Martin, Baker, and St. Patrick!

Great job by our ladies competing, battling, and representing Alma Bryant throughout the day. Keep building, keep competing, and keep that momentum rolling!

💙❤️ WAY TO GO, HURRICANES!

🌀 Want to Know the Secret Behind Our ELA ACT Growth?

There really isn't a secret—it's our teachers and our students.

The growth we are seeing in our ELA ACT scores doesn't happen by accident. It comes from teachers who pour into our students every single day and students who are buying into the process, putting in the work, and developing an eagerness to learn and improve.

One of our greatest strengths at Alma Bryant is teacher collaboration. Our teachers aren't working in isolation. They are sharing ideas, looking at data, discussing what is working, identifying areas where students need additional support, and working together to adjust instruction to meet those needs. That collaboration is creating consistency across our classrooms and helping move our students forward.

Walk into our classrooms and you will see clear learning intentions and success criteria so students understand what they are learning, why they are learning it, and what success looks like. You'll see small-group instruction and differentiated learning, allowing teachers to meet students where they are and provide targeted support. You'll see student collaboration, purposeful questioning, checks for understanding, hands-on learning, meaningful feedback, and opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning.

Just as important, our teachers are listening to our students. They are providing feedback, but they are also getting feedback from students, building relationships, adjusting instruction, and creating classrooms where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again.

And our students are responding.

That's the part of the story we don't want overlooked. Our students are buying in. They are setting goals. They are asking questions. They are working in small groups. They are learning from feedback. They are taking greater ownership of their education, and they are beginning to understand that the work they put in today can create opportunities for them tomorrow.

There isn't one program, one lesson, or one person responsible for this growth. It's a culture. It's teachers working together. It's intentional instruction. It's relationships. It's high expectations with the support needed to reach them. And most importantly, it's students deciding that they are capable of more and putting in the work to prove it.

The ACT scores may be what everyone sees on paper, but the real story is what is happening inside our classrooms every single day.

Great teachers. Engaged students. Collaboration. Intentional instruction. Student ownership.

That's the secret. That's the growth. That's Alma Bryant. 🌀💙
