MODULE 3: NERVE ENTRAPMENT & PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

Modules 1 and 2 focused primarily on pain conditions affecting the upper extremities, head and neck, torso, and lower extremities.

Module 3 shifts the clinical focus to paresthesia—the full spectrum of sensory disturbances, including:

• Numbness
• Tingling
• Pins and needles
• Burning sensations
• Shooting nerve pain

Across four intensive days, participants will develop advanced clinical skills in two distinct areas:

PART 1: PERIPHERAL NERVE ENTRAPMENT

Learn to identify common peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes and use precise acupuncture techniques designed to create space around compressed or irritated nerves.

PART 2: PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY

Develop a comprehensive approach to diagnosing, treating and tracking different forms of peripheral neuropathy, including:

• Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy
• Diabetic neuropathy
• Autoimmune neuropathies

Participants will learn standardized assessment methods, meaningful clinical outcome measures and evidence-informed electroacupuncture protocols designed to support nerve regeneration.

The goal is not simply to treat symptoms.

The goal is to understand the nerve—and make treatment measurable, reproducible and clinically meaningful.

16 acupuncturists gathered in Irvington to dive into trigger pointacupincture/dry needling training - refining technique and deepening our understanding of myofascial pain, peripheral and central sensitization, and needling safety (including working around the lungs).

Deeply grateful to Josh Lerner for making complex science behind dry needling and pain science accessible, and to Jon Kukor for being such a thoughtful and supportive assistant.

Huge kudos to my colleagues who showed up for the Myopain Seminars Dry Needling Level 2 Workshop—11 hours long days, grinding through long classroom hours and combing through in-depth material. That kind of commitment speaks volumes about your dedication and desire to become better practitioners.

But honestly, that’s only part of it.

It was also about sitting down together. Sharing meals. Bollywood dancing. Asking each other how we’re actually doing. Learning not just from the material—but from each other.

In a profession that can sometimes feel solitary and scattered, growth doesn’t just come from courses.
It comes from connection, camaraderie, and making space for real conversation.

This weekend was a reminder:
we’re all here because we love what we do—and it’s better when we do it together.

Grateful for this community of sharp, committed practitioners who keep showing up to learn, grow, and push the profession forward.
