The Singley Visual Arts Program competed in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) for Region 10 last weekend at MacArthur High School. We took 75 pieces to competition and returned with 68 Region medals and 3 Area medals. These 3 works advanced to state which will be held April 27th in San Marcos. The state bound pieces are Should’ve Been a Banana by Maddison Moore (Div 1), Pumpkin by Jody Gardiner (Div 3), and Emotion Express by Vandita Kalia (Div 3). This is Vandita’s 3rd piece to make it to state. Special shout outs to all our help providing practice interviews, cardboard, wood, soldering irons, and support for our artists.

I am thrilled to announce that our students achieved remarkable success at the competition:
In the Felony Traffic Stop event, we had two teams participating, and one of our teams earned 1st place. This outstanding achievement has secured their spot in the SkillsUSA State Competition in Corpus Christi this April.
In the Building Search event, our teams demonstrated exceptional teamwork and expertise. One team earned 3rd place, while another team clinched the 1st place, also earning them a spot at the SkillsUSA State Competition.
Furthermore, in the Criminal Justice (Individual comprehensive event), one of our students displayed exceptional skill and dedication, placing in the top three.
