During the Rome Program, student athlete Walker Alsobrooks '27 felt drawn to the beauty of the Catholic Church — not just in the sights and experiences of Rome, but also in the joy of the seminarians he met.
This Easter, Alsobrooks was initiated into the Church.
"I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, and it's been a long time coming … I do not deserve that love, but he gave it to me," he said. "I feel so blessed."

For theology professor emeritus Mark Goodwin, PhD, faith and scholarship have never been separate pursuits. A devoted teacher, prolific scholar and servant of the Church, Goodwin has spent decades forming students in the Catholic intellectual tradition, from the freshman Core to graduate seminars, and is currently writing a book on St. Paul and his letters.
