We are proud to announce the 2026 Adams Award National Winner: David Clark 🌟
David’s project began with a deeply personal mission. After spending much of his childhood receiving IV treatments, he knew how overwhelming the experience could be. So he set out to create something that would bring comfort, movement, and joy to young patients facing the same challenges.
Over nine months, David led 223 volunteers who contributed nearly 1,200 hours to build and paint colorful “IV lily pads” — wooden platforms that fit around IV stands and help kids feel more at ease during treatment. From fruit slices to flowers to whimsical characters, each lily pad became a moment of escape for young patients at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
With a new grant, David is already building more lily pads and partnering with hospitals across the country. His project is a powerful example of what compassion and leadership can accomplish.
We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of the territory and council Adams Award winners. Your projects, your service, and your dedication to your communities continue to inspire. Thank you everyone for representing the very best of Scouting. 💛✨

🌲🌎 Happy Earth Day from NESA! 🌎🌲

This Earth Day, let’s honor the trails we trek, the forests we learn from, and the outdoors that shape us. Leave no trace, lend a hand, and protect the places that give us adventure.🏕️✨

This weekend, Walker P. from Troop 13 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, will attend his own Court of Honor.
However, Walker’s story begins long before he spent over 120 hours building six bat houses (that house 1,200-1,800 bats, total) for his school.
Before he was elected to the Order of the Arrow – and before he earned four palms, attended the 2023 Nat Jamboree, climbed eight peaks at Philmont Scout Ranch and served as Senior Patrol Leader of his troop – Walker was a .
Walker’s parents got him involved in Scouting when he was in first grade – and so began his adventure. After crossing over from Cub Scouts to , Walker invested time in volunteering, camping and rank advancement. The memories he has made prove invaluable, and Scouting helped shape who Walker is, today.
“Through Scouts I have become lifeguard certified, CPR certified, first aid trained and licensed to operate motorized watercraft by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources,” Walker says.
As Walker gears up for his third summer on staff at Many Point Scout Camp (and first summer as Assistant Camp Director and Aquatics Director), we congratulate him on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. More than this, alone, we thank him for giving back to Scouting, the great outdoors and his local community.
Walker reminds us that Scouting can truly be a lifelong adventure. He challenges us to remain vigilant in our pursuit of safety and he inspires us to reach more youth, today.
Thank you, Walker, for all the good you have done through Scouting – we cannot wait to see what you will accomplish next!
