Pre-History: Cave Paintings of Altamira & Lascaux. Ages 6+ (Kindergarten). Materials: brown construction paper, black white yellow red and orange chalk

Optional: teacher can put inverted masking tape loops on the underside of the tables if you want students to work upside down just like the cave people would.

Step 1: carefully tear only the most outer edges off your brown sheet of paper.
2. Crumble your paper, open it up, crumble, open, repeat several times until paper is very crinkly.
3. Stick paper to a gathering of tape loops under the table (optional).
4. Draw your cave scene using images of inspiration.
5. Outline all the animal bodies in black.
6. Put paper back on top of table. With another paper underneath to catch stray marks and keep the table clean, rub black chalk along the edges for a smoked border look.
