Hello SHPE Familia!

Recently SHPE-UCI attended the 46th Annual Engineering Award Banquet hosted by Engineering Student Council. In this banquet professors, graduate, undergraduate students, and student organizations were nominated for prestigious awards for their work throughout the year!

SHPE-UCI won 4 out of 7 awards and one of our very own SHPEtinas Jennifer Barrientos won Biomedical Engineering Student of the Year Award!

The awards were:

- Best Collaboration Event with BMES, NSBE, and SWE. We hosted Microvention for an Info Session with all of them
- Best Mentorship Program for our MentorSHPE Program
- Best New Event for a new event we hosted called InternSHPE Days
- Best Outreach Event for SHPE Jr

Congrats to all the clubs that were nominated. Thank you SHPE Familia for being there and supporting. Thank you Engineering Student Council for all the work you all do!

Want to improve your public speaking skills? Come by our Professional Committee meeting today, Wednesday, February, 27th, where we will be hosting a Public Speaking Workshop! It will be in ICS 259 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM!

Whether it is giving a speech to run for a board position or giving a presentation to a class or co workers, public speaking is a pivotal skill that everyone must have. Come by Professional Committee to strengthen and improve this life long skill.

This is just a friendly reminder that we have SHPE study jams tonight in CSL room 8 from 7:30-11:30pm and room 3 from 8:30-11:30pm. Snacks are provided, so let's get our study on for those midterms and coursework.

Hello SHPE Familia!

For the past two weeks, our SHPE Jr students have been able to learn two new STEM activities! On Valentine’s Day, our SHPE Kr students learned the chemistry of making lip balm and just past week, our students learned the design process of making a catapult by using their creativity and imagination.

This is a reminder that tomorrow is our Events Planning Committee meeting from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at MRC (Multimedia Resource Center) room 173. It is found under the Science Library right across its entrance. Elections are coming up and if you are interested in running for Events Director I would really recommend you to join us tomorrow. Through these meetings you will get a better perspective of what is the job of the Events Director. Everyone is welcome to come, hope to see you all there!
