On September 5th 2007, six women, Melissa Perea, Sarah Chambers, Marina Oliman, Claribell De Leon, Juana Mercado and Kimmy Mckay from the University of Irvine joined together in order to form the newest chapter of Hermanas Unidas. Their goal was to establish an organization on campus that provided a place where women could come together and be themselves, while at the same time promoting unity.
