Words can be easy to squeeze out, but much harder to take back. Last week, our 5th graders took part in a simple but powerful activity. After squeezing an entire tube of toothpaste out, they were challenged to put it all back in. As they quickly discovered, once the toothpaste is out, there’s no way to fully get it back in the tube. The lesson? Words work the same way. It can be easy to say something hurtful in a moment, but once those words are out, we can’t truly take them back.
At New Horizon, we’re always striving to build thoughtful, compassionate leaders who understand that leadership isn’t just about what you do, but also about how you treat and speak to others. 👏🏼
