Global Partners for Sustainability Presents, Abundant Land: Soil, Seeds, and Sovereignty. Film Screening and discussion.
Abundant Land is a 60-minute documentary which follows a group of Hawaiian residents on the island of Moloka’i as they oppose the biotech industry's use of their land to test pesticide resistant seeds and work to restore an integrated food system based on ancient Hawaiian farming practices and permaculture.

We would like to invite you to an event from our sustainability partner; Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW), who is honored to host Professor Sunny Jiang. She will give a talk titled “The Future of California Water”. This lecture will focus on the future of water supplies, water reuse, and desalination. Professor Sunny Jiang is the future department chair for the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) department at UCI. The talk will be Tuesday, 12/5/17, during week 10, in ICF 101 at 7:00 P.M. AV will be planting trees around the community as part of our sustainability efforts.
You can cultivate countless benefits for Arroyo Vista and all those living here, just through the simple act of planting a tree. Trees can add value to the community, help cool the houses in AV, break the cold winds to lower our heating costs, and provide food for the wildlife that calls AV home. We need your help to plant trees for a greener, cleaner, and healthier Arroyo Vista.
