This morning, IUSD leadership descended upon Cadence Park to announce that our own Ms. Ayanna Lewis has been selected as the 2024 IUSD Teacher of Promise!
Ms. Lewis’s warmth, charisma and capability in the classroom has inspired impressive levels of participation and performance in our Musical Theater and Vocal Music ensembles. We appreciate the space that she has created for students to embrace the arts at Cadence Park and salute the splash that she has made so soon upon entering this challenging profession.

Massive congratulations to Cadence Park School’s TWO 2023-2024 Teachers of Excellence! Ms. Leishman was selected from among all IUSD Science Specialists, and Mr. Buck will represent the resident CPS staff this year. Thank you to both teachers for embracing the challenges of the teaching profession and positively impacting the lives of so many students!!!

Congrats to our Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra students won unanimous superior ratings from judges at yesterday’s Countywide competition. We also earned first place overall AND won best in the entire middle school division!!

After a brief postponement, our Pumas finally got to take the leap today into the obstacle course challenge. Much fun was had and many memories were made as we celebrated another successful PTSA fundraiser. Many thanks to for continued support and excellence!

Not many people have survived six nights in the snow with hundreds of middle school children, but this crew right here is going to give it a go! Shout out to the CPMS staff who has been holding it down amidst the blizzard of the decade while keeping our students as safe and happy as possible. Kudos as well to for rising to the occasion!
