The Sweet Art of Sugar Painting 指尖上的甜蜜藝術- 糖畫
On Sunday morning, students were greeted by the rich aroma of caramelized sugar wafting through the lobby. Sugar Painting (Tanghua) is a 400-year-old traditional folk art and a recognized Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage. We were honored to have Rose Yang, a talented student from Troy High School who apprenticed under a master in Chongqing, join us to demonstrate this unique craft. Using a ladle as her brush and melted sugar as her ink, Rose brought characters to life with remarkable speed and precision. Her creations capture the essence of Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting, and shadow puppetry.
週日上午，學生們一踏進校門，空氣中便瀰漫著大廳傳來的濃郁焦糖香。糖畫是一項流傳四百年的古老民間藝術，更是珍貴的中國非物質文化遺產。我們特別邀請到曾師從重慶「糖畫」大師的 Troy 高中生楊淡茹 (Rose Yang)，來到校園為大家現場演示這項畫糖絕活。她「以勺為筆、以糖為墨」，流暢的線條在鋼板上飛舞，作品完美融合了中國書畫的蒼勁、民間剪紙的細膩以及皮影戲的神韻。請欣賞這些精彩瞬間！

爾灣中文學校大多數學生之年齡介於五歲至十八歲之間，另設有成人班提供成人學習中文。目前本校有一千多名學生，依其中文能力分成近五十個班別，課本以僑委會提供的華語課本及初中華文為主。學習語文是各年級之主要課程。學校教授基本發音、注音符號、漢語拼音、字體、文法、標點符號、會話、聽寫及中國文化。除此之外，另設有多項選修課程，內容包括國畫、書法、紙藝、圍棋及象棋、編結、中文電腦、基本會話、歷史、地理、詩詞、舞蹈、笛子、弦樂、領導能力訓練及運動才能之培養。近年來，更引進電腦輔助教學，以期提高學生學習之興趣及效率。另設有校外學分班。此學分班已經南加州部分學區核准。
