It’s been a joy, honor, and privilege to be part of the PITC Family for the past four years and I’m so proud to now be officially PITC Certified! This organization is dedicated to the warm and responsive care and education of infants and toddlers while thoughtfully building honoring and collaborative relationships with families. So…my family says I’m a workaholic, so I signed up for a “Writing Poetry” class at IVC to show ‘em that I do do things that are not work related😤.

The final portfolio is due today and guess who isn’t done yet 😅. This must be what my students are feeling right now too 😂.

ABC Mom is closed for a few days for professional development and celebrating Mr. Jed’s IVC Commencement, but as I wake up this morning, I sure am missing our littles❤️. Looking through my phone and wanted to share some of our happy moments from May 🥰.

Last night of HD 150- I’m going to miss these students and spending time together with them on Thursday nights. Although I am the instructor, I learn so much from the students and truly treasure the time we share together. Wishing you all a fabulous summer!

We had our annual unannounced inspection by Licensing today and everything went well 🥳. Babi wasn’t home today, so I took the boys out to celebrate. Now that Jed is off to UCLA, I treasure piling the Leesketeers into my minivan and grabbing a bite to eat together. We got dinner, tea, and ice cream after. It really felt like a mini-vacation🥰. Now back home to work on all my late PITC LEOs 😅.

Awhile ago, Jed had shared that he wanted to see, “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Flower Drum Song.” I am insanely busy right now, but when I received the email from IVC that Canvas would be down until Monday, I took that as a sign to get the tickets. After purchasing the tickets, I received the digital program and imagine my complete surprise to see that a former junior high student is a part of the lead cast. My first thought was, he looks the same. My second question was, I wonder if he is the same 🤔?

It’ll be close to three decades since Kenton was our student (Mike used to be a youth pastor and I was the female counselor), but I remembered the gentle kindness of who he was as a boy.

After arriving at the Aratani Theater in Little Tokyo, I was told that sometimes you can talk to the cast after the show. So after the performance, which was absolutely amazing, and everyone should go see it, I waited for Kenton. While waiting, I found myself thinking back to that time when Mike and I were just getting to know each other while trying to love, serve, and care for a bunch of highly intelligent and rambunctious junior highers 😅.

Someone walked by, I asked about Kenton and was told that he was on the other side. I hurriedly walked over to see if I could catch him and was overjoyed to see him still there and you know what? He is the same.

He must have been exhausted, but he was so kind and generous with his time, talking to his old youth pastor and youth leader. I loved that he enthusiastically agreed to talk to our IVC Aspiring Educator’s Club as well 🥰.

After we said goodbye and he had already walked a distance away, I realized that we hadn’t been able to take a pic together. When I called from afar to have him come back for a pic, he did❤️.

- You are still you, your gentleness, kindness, and 善良, just like I remember. But now you are also so much more. We couldn’t be more proud of and dazzled by who you are and all that you have accomplished with your gifts, talents, passion, hard work, and resiliency. May you continue to shine ✨.
