I am saddened to share that Philippe Relouzat, former Academic Advisor for University Programs and instructor at the Division of Continuing Education's Professional Programs, has passed away.
Philippe was a beacon of light and goodness who shared his love of education and enthusiasm for students throughout his life. He was a dear friend and mentor to so many. Philippe, you will be missed.

After many years of successfully assisting international students meet their academic and career goals, the Professional Programs unit is no longer in existence. ESL and Certificate Programs are still being offered and information can be found on the Division of Continuing Education website at ce.uci.edu.

Did you know that Japan is home to more than 33,000 businesses with at least 100 years of history, which is over 40% of the world's total (Research Institute of Centennial Management)? These businesses have a higher purpose and are the owner's sense of pride and history. They are not chasing revenue and growth and are risk averse. This is a lesson during pandemic times.
There are positives and challenges to this philosophy. As a business professional, what philosophy do you prescribe?

Campus operations for indoor activity and limited non-strenuous outdoor activities may resume under COVID-19 guidelines today. While the fires are not an immediate threat to UCI at this time, wildfires can be unpredictable and conditions may change.

OCFA firefighters continue to battle the Silverado Fire, which has burned more than 11,000 acres as of this morning. It is 5 percent contained. Suspension of campus operations will continue today, Oct. 27.
