Newborn Reflexes Much of your baby’s activity in her first weeks of life is reflexive. For instance, when you put your finger in her mouth, she doesn’t think about what to do, but sucks by reflex.

A child’s brain develops faster with exposure to music education A study by researchers at the University of Southern California shows that exposure to music and music instruction accelerates the brain development of young children.

Practice and study smarter .

Suzuki Sensei said, bowing is breathing. Are you breathing when you use your bow?

Alternating between practicing your warm ups for Suzuki violin and doing your homework problems is a great way to break up both practicing and homework with breathing and movement for your brain.

You end up studying better and practicing better.

Breathing and movement with your hands above your heart brings better circulation to your brain. And stopping to do a short homework problem gives your arms a short rest between violin practice exercises.

Movement And Breathing Breaks Help Students Stay Focused On Learning When teachers give students opportunities to move during the day they set up the conditions for better learning.

I love starting Preschoolers!

It's Saturday morning in Irvine, CA and I just taught a PreTwinkle class with a new Suzuki family that started 3 weeks ago. They are about 4 and 5 years old and they just started listening to the Step by Step CD tracks for the first two Twinkles. They are now tapping them on Ready Go with their nicknames: Yummy, Yummy Cup Cake, & Cup Cake * Eat. These are words the children can remember easily to recall each rhythm.
Practice is enjoyable and meaningful using my Got2Twinkle activities that help parents and children pace their repetitions. Our brains have a chance to catch up and grow in confidence with new skills.

Today we tapped each Twinkle pattern in time with the music tracks they have been listening to softly in the background with the single repeat. Listening is magic!
