Today we made Oobleck! (Or Goop some call it) it’s simple recipe of cornstarch and water. When children grab it their hand it forms a ball, but when they open their hand it turns into liquid and slowly melts! This non-Newtonian substance is amazing for science exploration

During our outdoor activity today the children learned about farming, farm animals and growing corn. As an activity the children did corn shucking and then did abstract painting with the leaves of the corn!

Olam is putting together a Zoom storytelling program for grandparents who want to surprise their children at school and read a story to the classes. The scheduling of these events is flexible.

Last week, Morah Ashley read a story about the metamorphosis of butterflies that sparked a conversation about other things that hatch from eggs. We’ve been busy researching and have learned about insects. We showed the children a visual and molded plastic insects into baking powdered eggs and sprayed them with vinegar to watch them “hatch!” Such a fun science experiment and amazing for their fine motor skills and scientific minds!!
