Our mission is to improve access to higher education for Orange County’s Hispanic/Latino students.

HEEF was established over 24 years ago by generous donors and visionaries, in partnership with the Orange County Community Foundation, in an effort to inspire, enhance, and improve educational opportunities and academic potential of OC Hispanic students. The Orange County Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund (HEEF) serves students who have attended high school in Orange County (OC), California and been residents for a minimum of four years and are intending to enroll in a university program. HEEF offers competitive academic scholarships for Orange County high school and community college transfers, and additionally, awards tuition grants for students at selected Santa Ana, CA Catholic Grammar Schools, and provides scholarships for OC college graduates to attend Law School. HEEF’s goal is to enhance educational opportunities and to improve students’ educational expectations and opportunities. The Fund is a resource to academically talented Hispanic/Latino youth that need to overcome financial barriers to complete a college degree.

A student’s journey doesn’t end after freshman year. Their support shouldn’t either. 🎓

Getting into college is an incredible milestone. Staying on the path to graduation can bring new challenges each year—from tuition and books to transportation, housing, and everyday expenses.

That’s why HEEF is deepening its commitment to students through renewable scholarship support.

It’s about more than helping students begin college.

It’s about helping them keep going.

And ultimately, helping more students reach the finish line.

One Opportunity Can Change Everything

What if one conversation...
One introduction...
One scholarship...
One mentor...

could change the course of someone’s life?
At HEEF, we’ve seen it happen time and time again.

That’s why we continue investing in students, strengthening partnerships, and building a community that believes every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Be part of what’s next.

It takes a community to create opportunity. 💙

HEEF is strengthened by people who bring their time, experience, ideas, and connections to help advance our mission.

Our Advisory Committee brings together alumni, educators, business and community leaders, and longtime HEEF champions—all united by a shared commitment to helping students pursue higher education and build brighter futures.

We’re grateful for their leadership, their service, and the many ways they continue to help HEEF grow its impact across Orange County.Together, we’re building what’s next.

Honoring our legacy. Investing in our future.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the generations of students, families, educators, donors, volunteers, and community leaders who have shaped HEEF’s story.

For more than three decades, HEEF has been rooted in the belief that education creates opportunity—not only for individual students, but for families and entire communities.

We’re proud of where we’ve been.

We’re inspired by the students leading the way today.

And we’re excited about the generations still to come. 💙

Introducing HEEF’s Next Chapter:
HEEF is evolving to better serve today’s students.

College isn’t completed in a single year—it’s a journey.

That’s why HEEF is transitioning to a unified scholarship program that will provide:
✔️ $2,500 per year
✔️ Renewable for up to four years
✔️ Up to $10,000 in scholarship support

This evolution honors our past while providing deeper, long-term support for future scholars.

We’re excited for what’s ahead.
