Accounting and Entrepreneurship – Joined at the Tongue (Not in the Gross Way) | BDEC
I have long regarded accounting to be the language of business. We hear it all the time. Whether you talk to a business owner, a CEO, or an investor; whether the business is a service, a manufacturer, or a retail outfit; it’s always all about the emotionless “bottom line.”

New semester and new opportunities for business development and entrepreneurship! The meeting (and free pizza) tonight will be in room 248 on the Irvine campus at 6pm.

Followup: http://sprouter.com/questions/10218-i-have-an-idea-but-i-am-not-sure-if-i-should-build-the-proof-of-concept-first-before-pitching-the-ide
Q: I have an idea but I am not sure if I should build the proof of concept first before pitching the idea or should I pitch before building? I'm fairly certain that the idea requires funding and connections to big retailers.
A: "I would suggest both. If you are committed to doing this than you ARE doing this, which means pitching and building every day. What you are building will get more real and your pitch will get better. This will be the same whenever you start so the earlier the better. Ideas are a dime a dozen, momentum behind an idea is the difference between what could have been and what could be. Good luck."
