Na `Opio O Ka `Aina exists to ease the transition of students from Hawai'i and with the goal of spreading the aloha spirit. Welcome to our `Ohana!
Na `Opio o Ka `Aina (NOOK), which translates to "The Youth of the Land", was started in 1985 by several students from Hawai'i. The original purpose of NOOK was to ease the transition of Hawai'i students to the mainland lifestyle, as well as college life. Since Hawaiian students are so far away from a culture completely different than the one found in Irvine, it is sometimes hard to adjust to life

Aloha y’all!!! Are you interested in maybe learning Hawaiian and Tahitian dancing?? Well look no further, NOOK is just for you! Come join us at the Anteater Involvement Fair at our booth to meet some of our Ohana and to learn more about Hawaii Club at UCI! Also, don’t forget to come out and watch a special performance put on by a few of our members! We’ll be performing in Aldrich park at 1:50pm so come show us some love and support! 🤗🌺

Come check out our upcoming performance at the Community Roots Festival tomorrow at 12:30pm! Our lovely ladies will be performing the traditional Kahiko. We will also be selling Spam Musubi to raise funds for our end of the year luau. We hope to see you tomorrow! 🌺

Here is a very nice view of the Cross Cultural Center from Ring Road across from the Hill Bookstore and Aldrich Hall just in case y'all can't find the building. In this image, Dr. White's Room is located on the far right more towards Aldrich Park. We will have the door open and one of our members ready to help direct you if you're lost in this area :)
