We thank and sincerely appreciate the vital contributions of our state’s SLPs in supporting and helping individuals, especially children, overcome communication barriers. SLPs are utilized in schools, hospitals, and clinics, and often collaborate with audiologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to create and implement individualized treatment plans.

THREE CHEERS FOR THE LICENSING BOARD!!! As of Jan 1, the number of hours that licensees can do in recorded or self study sessions has DOUBLED to 12 per licensing cycle. Read the details on our blog here, which links to the specific page on the website. Thank you to the CSHA and other SLP advocates who worked hard for this modification.

California SLPs in ALL settings! CSHA is working VERY hard with the legislators to modify the laws governing our workload (including Ed Code and others). They desperately need a large number of responses to this survey to show how widespread the issue is in our state. Who needs literacy resources by GOAL? Bilinguistics is such a great site for resources: they've done it again with this list of recommended books for specific goals (phonology, following directions, fluency, etc). Check it out!
