Is my child ready for preschool? 🎒✨

It’s a question many parents ask, but preschool readiness isn’t about knowing every letter, counting to 100 or checking every box on a list.

Often, the signs are found in the little things. Asking endless questions. Wanting to do things “all by myself.” Showing interest in other children. Becoming more comfortable with routines. Exploring everything in sight.

Every child develops at their own pace, and readiness can look different for every little learner.

Why? How? What happens if…? 💭✨

Questions are a big part of how little learners make sense of the world around them. When children are encouraged to ask questions, explore different possibilities and search for answers, they’re doing more than satisfying their curiosity. They’re building critical-thinking and problem-solving skills along the way.

At Westcliff Early Learning Academy, we encourage children to explore, investigate and discover through hands-on learning experiences. Whether they’re experimenting with new materials, observing something interesting or simply wondering why something works the way it does, each question can open the door to a new learning opportunity.

Did you know? 💡

Play is an important part of how young children learn to solve problems. Whether they’re building, creating, pretending or exploring, play gives little learners opportunities to experiment, make decisions and discover what works.

These everyday moments can help children practice critical thinking, build confidence and develop the persistence to try a new approach when something doesn’t go as planned. Even the simplest activities can become meaningful opportunities for discovery and growth.

At Westcliff Early Learning Academy, hands-on activities, imaginative play and classroom exploration encourage children to follow their curiosity, think creatively and learn through experience. 🧩✨

Because when little minds are free to explore, play can lead to some pretty big learning moments!

🌕 Celebrate the Moon Festival with WELA! 🏮

Join us Saturday, September 12, from 10 AM–2 PM for an afternoon of culture, creativity, and connection at our Moon Festival Open House!

Families can enjoy paper lantern making, dragon mask crafts, moon-inspired painting, traditional music, moon cake and tea, fresh fruit, and more. While the kids explore and create, take a tour of our campus and discover how WELA blends Montessori, Reggio Emilia, nature-based learning, and STEAM to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

What a wonderful day of learning, community, and culture at WELA! 🌎💛

This past weekend our Culture Fair Open House brought families together to explore our classrooms, connect with our teachers, and celebrate the diverse community that makes WELA so special.

From cultural crafts and friendship bracelets to learning about our sports programs, new piano offerings, and hot lunch program, families got a glimpse of the many experiences awaiting our students this school year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We loved celebrating with our WELA community and welcoming new families as we get ready for an exciting year ahead. 🌱✨

Families will enjoy hands-on activities inspired by cultures from around the world, including friendship bracelet making, cultural crafts, and creative experiences for all ages. Children can explore, create, and celebrate the diverse backgrounds that make our WELA community unique.

What a wonderful day at our WELA Summer Fair & Open House! ☀️💙

Thank you to all of the families who joined us for a morning filled with smiles, exploration, and summer fun. From fair games, arts and crafts, and refreshing summer treats to sports demonstrations, language enrichment activities, and classroom tours, it was incredible to see so many children learning, playing, and making new friends.

Thank you to everyone who spent part of their Saturday with us. We loved meeting so many new families and can't wait to welcome many of you back to WELA soon!
