This semester in IRW, our students explored The Hunger Games, uncovering themes of courage, compassion, and survival. Through writing and analysis, they learned to connect evidence, explain ideas, and think deeply about each moment.

🚀 STEAM Camp Week 7 | Exploring Space in Irvine! 🌌✨

This week, our young explorers blasted off on a journey through the solar system! From Mercury to Neptune, campers learned what makes each planet unique — including why Neptune is such a brilliant blue. 🔭💙

Through watercolor galaxy art and 3D clay models of the solar system, they turned science into stunning creations.

Creative, hands-on, and totally out of this world — that’s how we explore the cosmos in Irvine! 🌠👩‍🚀🛸

🌊 STEAM Camp Week 5 | Ocean Exploration & Science Fun in Irvine! 🌊

This week, our campers dived deep into the ocean’s wonders through art and science! 🎨 Mornings were filled with colorful underwater paintings and clay creations guided by our amazing art instructor. In the afternoons, they explored marine life under microscopes, built mini ocean ecosystems, and even did a cool CO₂ candle extinguishing experiment to learn how gases impact our oceans.

Hands-on, creative, and full of discovery — that’s how we do STEAM in Irvine! 🌟🐠🔬

🧩 STEAM CAMP | The Logic Behind Engineering

This week, our young engineers dived into the world of structural mechanics and design thinking — all through the power of LEGO!

🚗 During the bridge-building challenge, students had to create a structure strong enough for toy cars to pass and hold weight. They explored load distribution, pressure points, and discovered why arches and triangle supports are more stable than single columns.

🏠 While building LEGO houses, they learned about center of gravity and foundation strength — understanding firsthand why ”a strong base builds a tall home.“

💣 And with their own LEGO catapults, they stepped into the shoes of medieval engineers! By adjusting launch angles, tension, and levers, they mastered the balance between creativity and physics.

Hands-on, minds-on — this week was all about realizing that great engineering isn’t just imaginative, it’s logical! 🧠📐✨
