Time flies.

Until a few weeks ago, it was Summer! But now shops have already started displaying Christmas decorations. We are talking about the plans for the new year. Don’t we all feel like we skipped 2020?


That thought made me a little anxious, so I listed out what I have accomplished this year, even a small event…and I found at least 9 things that I had finally tried and finished after putting off for so many years!! Created my own Home Page all by myself, made FB
business page (which is this one 💖 ), started teaching internationally online.
What a relief, 2020 didn’t slip through my fingers!


We (I mean my students) worked very hard, especially this summer. Because time flies, it almost slipped my mind that we had the online competitions until the trophies 🏆 and comments arrived!

Now I wonder if there is any way to send these to Japan, as USPS has suspended any incoming/ outgoing international mails to Japan due to covid…🤔

Merry Christmas Eve to Everyone.

It has been a while since I posted last time.
The Paganini-project was finally released on YouTube today! I am very happy that we met the deadline, which was "By Christmas eve so that we can share this as apart of Christmas gratitude."

This project started voluntarily and mainly self-directed by online class students during quarantine in 2020 fall. I thought this work would give students a motivation for music when we were not seeing in person, however, it also helped me to keep on moving forward.
Let's see the brighter side. There are things that we can still do.

It’s September. Good to start something new. This member is starting Paganini group class!


It started with Isabel, 10 yrs old, who randomly played the theme of Caprice No. 24 for me and said she wanted to play.

Yes, Paganini! It is a challenging piece for everyone. Playing the whole piece didn’t seem like a suitable plan for her so I chose a couple of variations, and all of a sudden this idea flashed in my head.

“Not the entire caprice but a couple of variations should be manageable for some students! We can all take a part!”

But would they be interested???


The answer was Yes! Interestingly, all these students I asked gave me immediate yes. Sounds like this piece is very popular among young students🤣


So this morning, we started a practice session. We shared about our own warm-up rituals and after 15min of warm up, we went through a couple of variations with a discussion on practice approach for a new piece.

It was also a good chance for me to check Urtext and give comparison thoughts, which I somehow never did on Paganini Caprice.

Moreover, at least our Paganini practice for today is already done💓
