March 2, 2015 was proclaimed Choi Kwang Do Day in the beautiful tropical island of Puerto Rico and great state of Georgia. The proclamation in Puerto Rico from Governor Alejandro J. Garcia Padilla and was accepted by Senior Master Fernando Camareno on behalf of Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi. Sajohnim was invited to the Georgia Capitol where he was presented the proclamation by Governor Nathan Deal. Many schools celebrated Choi Kwang Do World Day in their respective countries.

( El 2 de marzo 2015 fue proclamado el Dia Mundial del CKD en la hermosa isla tropical de Puerto Rico y el gran estado de Georgia. La proclamación en Puerto Rico fue a cargo del gobernador Alejandro J. García Padilla y fue aceptada por el Sr. Master Fernando Camareno en nombre del Gran Maestro Kwang Jo Choi. Sajohnim fue invitado al Capitolio de Georgia, donde se presentó la proclamación por el gobernador Nathan Deal. Muchas escuelas celebraron el Dia Mundial del Choi Kwang Do, en sus respectivos países.)

Daeil High School is one of the most prestigious high schools in Seoul (Monkdong) and has a student membership of 1500 strong. 500 of these students are in the special program organized by the principal Woo-II Lee. It is an all-boys high school. Daeil High school chose CKD and it was approved by the ministry of education. Principal Lee was looking for a way to develop his student’s character, improve their fitness and academics achievements. When Principal Lee heard the concept of CKD and its benefits as explained to him by the Instructor Master Yong Lee, he decided to include CKD as a special program.

This is a special program during regular school hours and not an after school program. In Korea, there are only 3 grades in high school. All 3rd year students are required to take CKD.3rd year students will be busy taking college entrance exams Next semester. Next year, the school plans for 1st and 2nd year students to take CKD and will be approximately 1, 000 students. This will be an ongoing program.

Since starting the classes a few weeks ago, the entire school now knows what CKD is about. The students are enjoying it and are already beginning to show greater respect/etiquette to others. Master Yong Lee is the instructor and teaches on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:20am to 12:10pm.

CKD International is grateful for the opportunity to teach at Daeil High School and would like to thank Principal Woo-II Lee for making CKD part of the school program to benefits his students.
