"Hi, I'm County the Courthouse Caterpillar. Add a painted rock to see how long I can get." This is located at the back of the courthouse. When you add a rock, just add it to the end. Let's have fun with this. Please feel free to add photos of the rocks you add.

The AV Art department would like to officially introduce the 28’x6’ custom mural they painted for Arcadia Sporting Goods. As you’re out and about this weekend feel free to interact with the butterfly 🦋 and give a shout out to my art students.

The 3rd Edition MAEA coloring book is here!! These young artist (Meleah Lara, Addison Gallaher, Autumn Hahn and Makenzie Hahn) are now published illustrators. We also had 3 seniors ( Ginny Young, McCoy Lucy and Connor Beck ) get published but they weren’t able to make it in the picture.
Thanks to our administration for purchasing them each a copy.

Today was the annual MACOA art show. My high school students and I attended the show and were pleasantly surprised. Senior, McCoy Lucy earned the Best in Show 2D ribbon on her colored pencil drawing of a Tiger and her two cubs. McCoy also won first place with her ceramic vase. Sophomore, Dakota Cooper came home with two 1st place ribbons in both printmaking and drawing black and white. Numerous other student artist won awards bringing our ribbon count up to 22 for grades 6-12.

We cannot wait to see what wonderful artwork the students present this year! Please think about coming by on Friday, 10-7. The awards will be at 7pm! Come encourage all of our young artists in our community.

Congratulations to Dakota Cooper (1st place), Lydia Clark (2nd place) & MyLeigh Reeves (3rd place) for winning the VFW Patriotic Art Competition. Dakota will now compete this summer at the State competition in Sedalia, MO.

Congratulations to all of the 2023 Art Blooms banner winners! This year the theme was “I Saw it Out My Window “. Over 1900 students participated in the MACOA contest this year. Be sure to check out all 350 winners which will be displayed in 10 towns. Thanks to the arts council for this awesome event and the banks who help sponsor the program encouraging student artists.
