🏊 🚴 🏃 ONE MORE DAY!

Tomorrow, the Tri 4 Steve Team takes on the Rochester Triathlon in memory of Steve Nicholson ’00 and Mark Nicholson in support of the Nicholson Family Fund at Bishop Kearney.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve shared the story behind Tri 4 Steve. A story rooted in family, faith, athletics, and a deep love for Bishop Kearney. Now, it’s almost time to race!

On Saturday, August 22, our Tri 4 Steve participants will swim, bike, and run with a purpose: honoring Mark and Steve's memory and helping create opportunities for future generations of BK students.

BK Alumni Spotlight👑

For Tom Erb '71, his connection to Bishop Kearney started with a simple experience: sitting in the auditorium as an eighth grader and watching West Side Story.

He remembers being amazed that so much could go into a production that only ran for a few weekends, and says the experience changed his life.

Decades later, Tom is still giving back to that same space, helping renovate and upgrade the BK auditorium so today's students can create, perform, and discover the arts for themselves.

When asked what he hopes his work leaves behind, his answer was simple: he wants every student who wants to get involved in the arts to be proud and do their best.

From the memories we make as students to the spaces that help create them, the BK experience has a way of lasting a lifetime.

Thank you, Tom, for sharing your story, and for helping make sure the next generation has the opportunity to create memories of their own.

🏈💙 BK Girls Flag Football Takes the Field Once Again with the Buffalo Bills!

Members of our program were presented with another incredible opportunity by the Buffalo Bills to join Section V and Section VI state and sectional champions on the field during halftime of the Bills’ home-opening preseason game!

Representing BK were Lia Antonio '27, Lillian Ilardo '27, Ellie Quattromani '29, who proudly took the field on behalf of their teammates and our school.

We are so proud to see our Girls Flag Football program recognized and celebrated on such a big stage! Thank you to the Buffalo Bills for creating this memorable experience and continuing to support the growth of girls flag football.

Our first BK Experience Camp is in the books!

This camp brought these athletes together on the ice, in the gym, and everywhere in between! giving them the opportunity to experience what it means to be part of the BK Selects community. From high-level training and skill development to building connections with coaches, teammates!

A huge thank you to all of the athletes, families, coaches, and staff who helped make the camp such a great experience. We loved welcoming everyone to BK and sharing a glimpse of what makes our Selects program and community so special!

After 12 years of dedicated service to Bishop Kearney, we are excited to celebrate Mrs. Paula Steffen as she retires from her career at BK and begins a wonderful new chapter!

As a proud Bishop Kearney alumna and the parent of a 2022 graduate, Mrs. Steffen’s connection to BK extends far beyond her career. She especially loved directing plays and musicals each year and watching students grow…not only as performers on stage, but also in the classroom and as leaders throughout the school community.

From leading Student Life, retreats, and the House System to directing theatre productions and organizing many school events, Mrs. Steffen made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues. She helped create memories and traditions that will remain part of the BK community for years to come.

Mrs. Steffen and her husband, Neil, are looking forward to moving closer to the beach and embracing coastal life. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, enthusiasm, and love for our students and school community.

Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Steffen, thanking her for 12 wonderful years, and wishing her happiness and many new adventures in retirement. Once a King, always a King! 🩵🖤

Fall sports are right around the corner, and now is the perfect time to get ready.

Before the school year gets underway, make sure you've checked a few things off your list:

✓ Register for your sport
✓ Make sure your physical is up to date
✓ Connect with your coach
✓ Check your team's schedule
✓ Get ready for the season

Official practices begin Monday, August 24, and there is still room on all of our fall teams!

Every swim, every mile, and every step honors the memory and legacy of Steve Nicholson '00 and his father, Mark Nicholson, while helping create new opportunities for future generations of Bishop Kearney students.

The Nicholson family's generosity and commitment to BK continue to make an impact, and we are proud to carry that legacy forward.
