Who knows what this runway turn is called? 👀
Model:
Model demonstrating your standard flare and T pose ✨
A runway “flare” is a specialized, stylish pose executed by models at the end of the catwalk (in this case the beginning into a T-pose), involving a deliberate step, lean, and pause to showcase the outfit before turning.
This transition, often used in conjunction with a 360-degree spin or half-turn (check our next post), adds flair (panache) and dynamic energy to the presentation.
Key Aspects of the Runway Flare & Walk:
The Pose: The flare involves stepping to the side, leaning, and creating a brief, high-impact moment for photographers.
Movement: While walking, models maintain a neutral, stoic expression, letting the clothes take center stage, with subtle, controlled hip movement.
Posture: Shoulders are kept back and down, with relaxed arms swaying naturally to the rhythm.
Runway models typically maintain a neutral expression to allow the focus to remain on the designer’s clothing.

Founder & Director born & raised in Rochester, NY, originally started modeling and acting in Atlanta GA, back in 2018. She took a leap and left Rochester to pursue her passions in music, modeling, and fashion design. While in GA, she attended her very first casting call, walked in her very first fashion show, & secured her first roles as extras in How High 2 and Black Lightening.
Upon her return to Rochester, she noticed that the opportunities for modeling and acting were scarce. She decided to create her own and purchased a camera in 2019 to help others who were interested in modeling, build their portfolios. Thats where Shootin Starzz was birthed, originally called “Shootin Starzz The Model Club (TMC)”.
Over the years she has helped many individuals start a career in modeling from putting them in front of a camera for the first time to them walking their very first fashion show. Mecca has always wanted to provide the same knowledge and opportunities that she was given and learned, to her own community and she does that through and .
