We are excited to announce a familiar face in a new role as the Diploma and Career Programme Coordinator: Ms. Gaines Marsh.
Ms. Marsh began her teaching career at JCIB and Shades Valley High schools in 2006, and has remained a member of the JCIB faculty for two decades, teaching Language and Literature at the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade levels as well as the Theory of Knowledge course. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of the IB Educator Network, where she has participated in curriculum development at the global level.
Ms Marsh considers her greatest accomplishment as an educator is witnessing the many ways JCIB graduates go on to make a positive impact in the world. While relinquishing her classroom role is bittersweet, she is excited for the opportunity to support teachers and students through the institutional knowledge, experience, and relationships she brings to the position of DP/CP coordinator.
Outside of the school setting, Ms. Marsh enjoys tackling culinary projects, visiting museums, and attending cultural events with her husband and children.

Congratulations to Jaidyn McDuffie, JCIB freshman, on her national crown! Such an impressive young woman who exemplifies the IB Learner Profile characteristics (risk-taker, communicator, thinker, balanced, caring - to name just a few!) and she is an excellent representative for not just JCIB, but JefCoEd and the state of Alabama.
Way to go! We're so proud of you!
