🙏💙 Welcome, Sisters! 💙🙏

We are overjoyed to welcome three religious sisters from the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to our community this September! ✝️

The sisters, who are educators from Kenya, are expected to arrive around September 10. One sister will serve full-time at Holy Spirit Catholic School, one will be at Bishop Baraga Catholic School teaching Religion, and one will serve both schools teaching Art. All three sisters are educators who speak and write English, and we are so excited for the gifts, talents, and faith they will bring to our students.

Their presence will be a beautiful gift to our schools, providing our children with a living example of a life dedicated to Christ. We look forward to the spiritual richness they will bring to our classrooms and hallways! ❤️

The sisters will be residing in the rectory/convent attached to St. Barbara’s Parish in Vulcan. A wonderful group of women has been working hard to prepare the convent and make it a comfortable and welcoming temporary home for our new sisters. 🏡💕

📚💙 NEXT UP: LET’S WELCOME MRS. GRAY! 🤍✨

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Janice Gray to the Bishop Baraga Catholic School family! 🎉

Mrs. Gray is already a familiar face to many in our school community—she is the wife of our 5th-grade teacher, Mr. Mason Gray! 💙🤍 This year, we are thrilled to welcome her to our teaching staff as our Middle School History & Literature Teacher.

Originally from Hemlock, Michigan, Mrs. Gray earned her education degree from Central Michigan University. She and her husband have three daughters, and family is clearly an important part of her life!

Mrs. Gray’s passion for teaching began with a memorable, hands-on learning experience she had when she was in third grade. She brings a wealth of teaching experience to BBCS, having previously taught English and Science.

When she’s not in the classroom, Mrs. Gray enjoys board games, Yahtzee, reading mysteries, and working on jigsaw puzzles. 🧩📖🎲

We are truly blessed to have Mrs. Gray joining our middle school department. She looks forward to growing alongside her students while encouraging them to strive for excellence in both their studies and their faith. ✝️📚

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Erin Leaf will be joining our teaching staff as our Music Teacher this school year! 🎼✨

Mrs. Leaf is already part of our Bishop Baraga family—her daughter, Penny, is a 3rd-grade student at BBCS! 💙🤍 We are so excited to officially welcome Mrs. Leaf into our school community in a new role.

And there’s even more to be excited about! 🎺🎶 Mrs. Leaf will be offering music classes AND band this year! We’ll be sharing more information about the band program and logistics as the school year gets underway.

🍎 Meet Miss Emily Czeiszperger- 2nd Grade! 📚✨

We are excited to welcome Miss Emily Czeiszperger to Bishop Baraga Catholic School, where she will be teaching our 2nd-grade students! 💙🤍

Growing up in the small town of Pittsford, Michigan, Miss Czeiszperger is the second oldest of six children. Education and faith have always been an important part of her family. Her mother is a math teacher, her father is a chemist, and her older sister is a Dominican religious sister. She also has two younger sisters and two younger brothers, including a brother who will be entering the seminary this fall.

Miss Czeiszperger is a graduate of Northern Michigan University, where she studied Elementary Education and was a member of the track and field team as a pole vaulter. She was inspired to become a teacher through her family’s dedication to education and the meaningful experiences she had with students during her clinical observations and student teaching.

Outside of the classroom, Miss Czeiszperger enjoys reading, running, swimming, hiking, cooking, traveling, and playing cards. 🏃‍♀️📖🌲🃏
She is especially excited for the year ahead and looks forward to teaching her students about the Sacrament of Holy Communion and helping them prepare to receive Jesus. ✝️❤️
