The 6th-8th grade English classes finished a unit on business letters by writing to companies of their choice. Juliana Rodriguez was the first person to get a letter in return from Dulce Nulle Gourmet Desserts in Iron Mountain. Business owner Melissa Boyles actually stopped at the school with her letter as well as a batch of cookies and coupons for the entire 6th grade class! Lily Murawski was the next one to receive a reply. She heard from Airheads! They sent her samples of the favorite airhead candies she had mentioned in her letter! We’re hoping to get more responses in the weeks to come.

Throughout the month of April our students having been learning how to be trustworthy as trustworthiness is our virtue of the month. The students below were caught practicing this virtue. Their teachers found them to be dependable and trustworthy in a variety of ways. ☺️

Mrs. Erickson’s writing classes have been covering a variety of writing topics over the past few weeks. She’s been giving awards for her favorite pieces from each assignment. She explained to her classes that whenever she reads a batch of papers there is always one that stands out – whether it was the best written, the most improved, the most entertaining, etc. Students have been enjoying trying to write the one that will be her favorite. The winner each time gets a box of movie theatre candy, their picture and writing piece mounted in the hallway, and most importantly bragging rights! Here are some of the winners!
